Environmental Safety Policy

Environmental Protection
Protection of the Earth’s environment is now a challenge facing all humanity. Out of our duty to society and the environment as well as to help protect the ecological environment that we all share, CLC not only strives to improve and make breakthroughs in production technologies during our pursuit of sustainability, but also places a strong emphasis on initiative, completeness, prevention, systems and compliance with international standards in our environmental safety and health management model to ensure that all EHS quality management requirements are realized.

To work with our employees to protect their health and safety, CLC not only strives to improve and make breakthroughs in production technologies during our pursuit of sustainability, but also implements environmental safety and health management activities in a cautious manner out of our duty to society and our corporate mission. Pollution prevention, industrial health and safety and due diligence on environmental protection as well as employee health and safety, are all rigorously enforced.

The above philosophy guides CLC cooperation with government ESH policies. All effort is made to fulfill our legal duty, social obligations, and enforce ESH management in order to create a quality working environment, and protect the physical and mental well-being of employees. To realize the CLC mission of “contributing to society through the highest quality” through quality products and environmental safety, we actively promote and implement the ISO 14001/ISO 45001 ESH management systems.

A. Practice the ideals and principles of environmental safety and health management:
  • Recognize ESH management as a top priority for the Company.
  • Confirm regulatory requirements as well as environmental considerations/safety and health risks related to organizational activities, products, or services.
  • Periodic review and continuous improvement of environmental performance based on ESH policy and targets accomplished.
  • Provide appropriate and adequate resources (including training) to meet the performance standards for each stage on a continuous basis.
  • Establish and maintain communications on internal and external ESH issues.
  • Inspire management and employee commitment, understanding and awareness of environmental protection/safety and health, and explicitly define their duties and responsibilities.
  • Establish procedures that define how systems are to be implemented, the requirements and standards, and performance evaluations.
  • Establish management procedures for auditing and reviewing the operating status of the ESH management system. Identify and propose improvements to ensure the effective operation of the system.
B. Climate change management
CLC is engaged in energy conservation and carbon reduction initiatives as well as compliance with pollution prevention regulations to fulfill our responsibility as a global citizen and business. We are continuing to improve the energy-efficiency in order to conserve energy resources.

The above philosophy is implemented into the production process. Emphasis is placed on improvement equipment efficiency as well as regular maintenance and repairs in order to identify energy-conservation measures and opportunities. Preference is given to products with energy-efficiency marks and energy-saving facilities in accordance with energy purchasing regulations to boost energy awareness among employees.

C. Water resource management
  • Water usage management: Water consumption is divided between production of pure water and plain employee water. To put the concept of water recycling into practice, continuous monitoring equipment was developed for production of pure water. Used pure water is then tested to make sure they satisfy the standards before being reclaimed as wastewater for flushing factory toilets. The effective recycling of water resources greatly reduced the consumption of tap water.
  • Rainwater management: Implement systematic measures to prevent pollution of rainwater run-off. The measures also prevent illegal discharges or leaks from entering the storm drains.
D. Waste management
Paper reduction during business processes is emphasized by CLC to reduce waste generation. Packaging materials are also reused with customer permission. Procedures were drawn up for the effective removal of factory waste and to improve environmental hygiene so that waste can be recycled, stabilized, neutralized and commercialized.
Environmental Safety Policy
The amount of waste produced by human technology and industrial activity continues to grow every day. The living environment continues to deteriorate every day in return. Advances in technology suggest that Earth will become polluted and gray in tomorrow's world. Due to the ESH risks associated with the production process of industrial mixed acid manufacture, a strong emphasis has been placed on ESH management by the Company since our establishment. Our goal is to bring industrial accidents at the Company down to zero to provide assurance of employee safety and health. CLC makes the following commitments in our pursuit of corporate sustainability to protect the land, benefit future generations as well as ensure employee safety and health:
  • Implement environmental protection and safety & health tasks to prevent pollution, injury and disease.
  • Comply with the relevant government ESH regulations and other requirements.
  • Promote conservation of energy resources, carbon reduction, and waste reduction.
  • Continue to make improvements to the working environment and workflows to eliminate hazards and reduce occupational safety and health risks.
  • Establish a safety and health culture, and improve the ESH awareness and participation of all employees.
